Zusammenfassung
Der Beitrag versucht, den Einfluß des amerikanischen politischen Denkens auf die Formulierung der Außenpolitik der USA darzustellen. Die Genese der amerikanischen Republik schuf die Rahmenbedingungen für eine stärker “ideologisch” ausgerichtete Außenpolitik als dies bei anderen Staaten der Fall war und ist. “Ideologie” wird dabei als die Absicht einer Übertragung der amerikanischen Ordnung auf andere Staaten und das internationale System als Ganzes verstanden. Um dies zu zeigen, werden die Auswirkungen dieser Genese und des ihr eigenen politischen Denkens auf die Außenpolitik der USA nachgezeichnet.
