Abstract

This paper presents a distinct element method study on the installation effects of rigid driven open-ended piles subjected to force-control. A two-dimensional model of granular assembly is developed using the particle flow code. The model is generated under high gravity to simulate a deep foundation. The soil plugs of three types of open-ended piles were analysed, and the lateral stresses of different depths were shown.
