Abstract

The metamorphic rocks in and around Kurseong of Darjeeling-Sikkim Himalaya is defined by the high-grade gneissic rock of the Darjeeling Formation and the phyllitic Daling Group rocks below it. The key structural finding has been top-to-S/SW fore-shear and orogen-parallel top-to-E and top-to-W shear. These shears develop in garnetiferous quartz mica gneiss of the Darjeeling Group.
