Abstract

A clinical complaint of “hemorrhoids” can represent quite a number of clinical problems. There are multiple causes of hemorrhoidal irritation with grades of severity. Surgical intervention should be considered after failure of medical management. The predominant symptoms of hemorrhoid disease should guide the choice of surgical therapy.
