Abstract

Prostate cancer is a common malignancy among American males but is associated with a remarkably low mortality rate. Management options for this disease include active surveillance, surgical resection, radiotherapy, and hormone manipulation. This chapter discusses diagnosis and management, as well as the controversy around the role of serum marker-based screening for prostate cancer.
