Part of the book series: Essentials in Cytopathology ((EICP,volume 13))

Abstract

This category of CNS tumors covers a group of three rare glial neoplasms of uncertain histogenesis, astroblastoma, angiocentric glioma, and chordoid glioma, although the ultrastructural studies suggest a derivation from specialized ependymal cells. In this chapter, the cytomorphologic features and intraoperative differential diagnosis of these uncommon entities are discussed.
