Abstract
Apart from tempering with pictures on the pixel level, journalists and audiences alike are confronted with the problem of context manipulation. Where, when and under which circumstances a photograph has been taken is information easily manipulated by a twisted caption. This article focusses strategies for a quick and fast forward plausibility test, including the use of external sources and formal aspects of a photograph. All ideas discussed in this article are wrapped up in a verification model that should help to reflect on the context of a photograph in a fast and efficient way.
