Abstract
Derek had been a poster boy for executive success. An excellent student at high school, he moved effortlessly to an Ivy League college. During his studies, he met his future wife whom he married soon after graduation. Subsequently, Derek got a position as an associate at a premier strategic consulting firm. Having worked there for a few years, he decided to do an MBA at one of the better-known business schools. After obtaining his degree – financial independence was important to him – he joined one of the major investment banks on Wall Street. With his talent for M&A, Derek became a partner in record time. While climbing the corporate ladder, he had also become the proud father of three daughters.
We should give meaning to life. Not wait for life to give us meaning.
