Abstract
The results of sympathectomy in the treatment of focal hyperhidrosis have been shown to be very good when considering the improvement of quality of life in the majority of patients. However, compensatory hyperhidrosis, the main adverse effect of this intervention, is the chief reason for patients’ dissatisfaction and even regret. In order to better select patients for the surgical procedure, we treat them conservatively at first, and in those who do not adapt to this treatment, we indicate the sympathectomy.
