Varicocele and Male Infertility

Abstract

The purpose of this chapter is a contemporary review of the use of robotic microsurgical techniques for the purpose of fertility improvement in males. The robotic-assisted microsurgical subinguinal varicocelectomy technique will be discussed in detail. There are potential benefits in terms of decreased surgeon fatigue and improved surgical efficiency when utilizing a robotic platform for such procedures. This chapter presents the technique and early outcomes of some high-volume centers utilizing this technique.
