Abstract
The Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act [HFEA] 2008 stipulates who is, or are, the parent(s) by law of a child created using donated gametes and all UK clinics are subject to its regulation. There is a requirement for stringent record keeping and completion of all forms prior to the commencement of any treatment. This chapter highlights measures to be taken in dealing with surrogacy and gamete donation to avoid legal claims.
