Abstract
The prevalence of pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence is increasing and with it the need for corrective surgery. As the risk factors are similar it is inevitable that women will commonly present with both. The usual offer of conservative treatment should be made. Prior to undertaking concurrent surgery it is important to give patients the option of having a two stage procedure and for those choosing to have surgery for both conditions concurrently to be aware of the implications of this. This has become an increasingly litigious area and is discussed in this chapter.
