Abstract
Pelvic ring injuries are often secondary to high energy mechanisms and may be associated with substantial hemorrhage, morbidity, and mortality. Associated injuries in the chest, abdomen, spine, head, and extremities are common. Early identification and appropriate treatment of pelvic fractures is critical in emergencies and can potentially be life-saving. Different classification systems exist based on mechanism of injury (Young-Burgess) and fracture stability (Tile) and can help guide management.
