Abstract

This chapter will present one approach clinicians can adopt when transitioning their adolescent patients to independent living. Focusing on relationship-centered care can increase engagement, awareness, and involvement of adolescents in their acquisition of self-management skills. The concepts presented throughout this chapter will be illustrated at the end through application toward allergic-specific conditions.
