Abstract

The modern society, dominated by the “philosophy” of being always connected to the Net allows us to communicate live with thousands of Internet users, thus revolutionizing the concept of time and space. An opportunity or an obstacle to the Environmental Communication? How to guarantee a correct understanding of what is communicated? Which precautions to be taken? Questions that make the modern communicator reflect on the management of the Environmental message when surfing the Net. A process that requires a suitable degree of competence on the environmental matter, as well as a specific training in communicating responsibly. Only in this way, we are able to know, face and foresee the message “noise”, which might compromise the contents, creating unjustified alarmism or underestimating real dangers. It is increasingly necessary, to invest in qualified information. A target that becomes a social duty especially through the Net and the use of Social Media. The latter have proved to be useful allies to spread out the Environmental values with words and visual elements, also in occasion of emergencies.
