Abstract
A resilient mindset is essential for coping successfully with the vicissitudes of life. While most people display some measure of resilience, resilience coaching teaches clients how to make themselves more resilient by developing productive attitudes and actions to tackle the adverse situations that currently defeat them. This focus on developing productive attitudes and actions is at the heart of rational-emotive cognitive-behavioural coaching (RE-CBC) which enables clients to move from struggling badly to struggling well with these situations. In this chapter, RE-CBC and resilience are defined, the RE-CBC sequence is described and some of the attributes associated with resilience are listed. A detailed case example is presented to show resilience coaching in action. Finally, it's important to remember that RE-CBC is not for every client and ways to improve the experience of those wanting this form of coaching are described.
