Abstract
Pharmacologic therapy is fundamental to the treatment of cardiac emergencies in children. Unfortunately, as with most drug therapy in children, little data exists as to optimal application of therapeutic agents. Therefore, a sound understanding of developmental physiology and pharmacology is necessary. In this chapter, we offer a succinct review of developmental physiology and pharmacology relevant to drug therapy and a concise overview of the application of the most relevant drugs.
