Abstract
Pyogenic granuloma is a common, benign vascular lesion of unknown origin that can occur on the skin and superficial mucosae. It appears as a soft, reddish papule, nodule, or polypoid lesion, often bleeding following minor traumas. Dermatoscopy allows the detection of five main dermatoscopy findings: reddish homogeneous area, white collarette, white rail lines, vascular structures, and ulceration. Although none of these single signs is specific, the combination of three or more of them is strongly suggestive of pyogenic granuloma.
