Ultrasound-Guided Peripheral Nerve Blocks

Abstract

High-resolution US has been established as an effective diagnostic modality for the assessment of peripheral nerve pathology, in addition to clinical evaluation and electrophysiological studies.

Due to its intrinsic features (such as cost-effectiveness, possibility to perform dynamic maneuvers, lack of contraindications, and non-invasiveness) US can be used for the assessment of patients with traumatic, neoplastic, infective, or compressive nerve injury.
