Abstract

Acute chest pain in adults is one of the most common reasons for presentation to the emergency department but requires diligent evaluation to prevent missing a significant cardiac or pulmonary problem. As such, emergency departments have developed protocols rapidly to evaluate patients. The advent and evolution of coronary CTA has placed this imaging modality on the forefront in the evaluation of acute chest pain. The chapter will review the imaging modalities utilized in acute chest pain, as well as, describe method for integration and limitations in the acute setting.
