Abstract

The Messier objects from M75 to M110 start off with the globular cluster Messier 75 which John Herschel described as 'insignificant'! The same cannot be said however for the magnificent Messier 81 galaxy in Ursa Major or for the spectacular Messier 83 galaxy in Hydra. Messier 101 is a superb face-on galaxy that is reminds me of M33 which contrasts sharply with Messier 104, the edge-on Sombrero Galaxy.
