Abstract
Worldwide breast cancers are a common cause of concern for patients as well as for doctors. Carcinoma of the male breast accounts for less than 1% of all malignancies in men and 0.2% of male cancer deaths. However, Paget’s disease of the male breast is a very rare clinical entity and almost always associated with an underlying breast cancer . Both immunohistochemistry and breast magnetic resonance imaging methods are complementary and should be correlated to confirm or exclude a diagnosis of Paget’s disease. The surgical treatment of Paget’s disease is always under debate, but it should be selected on the basis of clinical and radiological assessment as well as extent of involvement of cancer. Even though the clinical and pathological description of breast cancer in men is similar to that of women, considering prognosis, men seems to have worst prognosis. The objective of this chapter is to provide an overview of Paget’s disease and to describe the etiopathogenesis, clinicopathological features, differential diagnosis, and recent diagnosis and treatment modalities of Paget’s diseases of the nipple in the male breast with cancer.
