Abstract

Arthrogryposis multiplex congenita (AMC) is a descriptive term for a heterogeneous group of disorders [1]. There are hundreds of types which fall under the rubric of AMC. This syndrome is caused by a variety of neurogenic (peripheral and central nerve dysfunction) and myopathic (muscle wasting) disorders. The inheritance, etiology, and pathogenesis are unknown. Typically AMC is present at birth and is often progressive.
