Abstract
Appendicitis is the most common cause of acute abdominal pain requiring surgery. An early diagnosis is crucial to the success of surgical therapy and to avoid complications.
Computed tomography (CT) due to the high accuracy has become the gold standard for the diagnosis of acute appendicitis.
This chapter reviews current CT imaging techniques, signs, and differential diagnosis in patients with clinically suspected appendicitis.
