Abstract
The common indications for an urgent endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) are acute cholangitis and biliary pancreatitis. In addition, stent migration, trapped or broken retrieval basket, hemobilia, luminal or guidewire perforation, and acute cholecystitis are some other urgent and emergent situations that therapeutic endoscopists are faced with in clinical practice. This chapter reviews management of these conditions focusing on endoscopic techniques.
