Abstract
A high-resolution stratigraphic framework has been established for a marine core located on the northern side of the Little Bahama Bank slope. The stratigraphic methods include fauna and flora analyses (planktonic foraminifera and coccoliths), radiometric dating, XRF analyses, and isotope stratigraphy. The low production and exportation of sediment from the bank during glacial periods and sea-level lowstands has resulted in reduced deposits, whereas deposits during interglacial periods are well developed. Gravity flows have disturbed the sedimentation, mostly during sea-level rises.
