Abstract

A “bench scale heat flew calorimeter” designed for hazard analysis and process design of industrial organic reactions has been in use at Ciba-Geigy for more than ten years. The experience in the application of this instrument for organic synthesis, kinetics, hazard assessment and design data is reviewed.
