Abstract
Use of granular activated carbon (GAC) widely employed for water and wastewater treatments, where removal of potentially mutagenic substances is frequently required (1), is limited by the cost of thermal regeneration. In order to visualize possible economies in thermal regeneration procedures, a systematical investigation on thermo-release mechanisms of several common pollutants from GAC has been undertaken.
