Abstract
Broadband intense pulsed lights (IPLs) have progressively gained a place in the armamentarium for the treatment of acquired and congenital skin vascular malformations. Mastering the potentially infinite combinations of adjustments in the early generation intense pulsed lights required a steep learning curve. The last generation high quality IPLs are equipped with the state-of-the-art software supporting the user in the choice of the right operative parameters in each patient and clinical condition, offering the possibility of a wide personalization to the expert users.
IPLs are included in the generally accepted guidelines for treatment of vascular skin malformations and, in selected conditions, last generation submillisecond-IPLs can compete with the results of vascular lasers.
