Abstract

As already known, prediction error histogram shifting (PEHS) is a remarkable reversible data hiding method in which a sequence E of prediction errors of pixels is constructed and data is embedded by histogram shifting (HS) on E. In this paper, we propose a method that is a combination of PEHS and PPVO method. In this scheme, after dividing the host image into equal-sized blocks, the block is considered based on its flat property. If it is flat, it embeds a data bit based on the PESH method. In remaining case, it embeds a data bit based on PPVO. Experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms some state-of-the-art methods in terms of embedding capacity and stego image quality.
