Strategy and Strategic Discourse in Turkish Foreign Policy

Abstract

The years between 1919 and 1923 were the period that the legacies of imperial past were resolved through use of force and diplomacy . The strategic end of this period was to transform a dying empire into a young republic, by employing all limited available means. In that sense, it can be suggested that Turkish foreign policy strategy is based on a kind of revisionism which is based on realistic assessments of the surrounding conditions created by the structure.
