Abstract
This chapter analyses the glocal memorial competition over the shape of the Memory Trail, a set of exhibitions narrating the whole of wartime history of Kraków. The exhibitions at Schindler’s Factory and the Eagle Pharmacy, unveiled respectively in 2010 and 2013, were created by local curators working both in cooperation and in competition with global experts, national historians and local politicians. The effect of their work was a set of multisensory exhibitions that allowed the visitor to travel back in time, feel the past realties and feel for the suffering of Krakowians. While embracing cosmopolitan values in their treatment of the Jewish topics, the new exhibitions, particularly the Factory one, also re-established the Germans as the Threatening Other of the Polish nation.
