Abstract
This chapter explores the organized American Jewish community’s responses to antisemitism, including security measures, alliance building, and proactive, strategic relationship building. It also looks at how those measures are not unanimously supported. Increased security, which notably spells more armed law enforcement professionals in Jewish spaces, leads some to feel more insecure and taps into the trauma associated with overpoliced people of color in American. Divisions among American Jews about security also fall along partisan lines, often including disagreements about Israel, thereby threatening the consensus approach that has helped the community counter antisemitism.
