Abstract

It is interesting to consider why Lacan takes up Genet’s Le Balcon as a way of considering the end of the analytic situation. We can consider those parallels between the analytic clinic and bordello inscribed into his final session of Seminar VIII as a way of reading failure and mourning as a transmission into another desire.
