Sample MSK MRI Reports

Abstract

This section includes 19 common MSK MRI report templates to aid you in developing your own reporting style. These are the actual templates populated into our structured reporting systems. Many of these report templates have been discussed with our referring orthopedists to take into account their preferences. The Technique section includes the exact sequences that we use for each MRI protocol. The Findings sections are often subdivided by body parts to aid in reporting, and this is often in the order that we review the exams while reading and reporting. Note that many of the sentences are placed in brackets “[ ]”. This is to aid in quicker reporting as many dictation systems use this feature as a way to toggle between sentences. One can dictate over what is between the brackets when abnormal or leave the sample sentence in the report when appropriate. We hope that you will find the section useful in producing your own reports.
