Abstract

Coarctation of the aorta is a common congenital heart lesion that may occur in isolation or in association with other congenital heart defects. It may present at any age from the neonatal period to adulthood. This chapter will provide surgeons with details of the pathophysiology related to common modes of presentation, diagnostic imaging, initial and definitive management, and surgical strategies and techniques to enable informed decision-making.
