Multifocal Intraocular Lenses

Part of the book series: Essentials in Ophthalmology ((ESSENTIALS))

Abstract

Implantation of multifocal IOLs that offer full refractive correction at all distances is the ideal goal for cataract and lens-based refractive surgery. Overall, multifocal IOLs achieve high patient satisfaction. Other studies also show a high patient satisfaction after multifocal IOL surgery with scores of 8.3 ± 1.6 (out of 10) and 8.5 ± 1.2 (out of 9), respectively.
