Abstract
The influences of the relevant eccentric errors of the carrier and the planets on the contact characteristics of planetary gear drives are analyzed with aid of an analytical approach. A set of formulae on gear meshing relations considering such the errors are derived based on the involute gearing geometry. The effects of the errors on the backlashes and the transmission errors are then discussed systematically according to combination of various errors.
