Abstract
This chapter provides a general overview of the common diagnostic imaging findings and optimal use of imaging technologies in the diagnosis, follow-up, and screening of gastrointestinal tract cancers. With the development of state-of-the-art technologies and increased experience with these modalities, imaging is generally the first diagnostic tool employed by physicians in modern medical practice. Imaging modalities such as ultrasonography (US), computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET-CT) can be used in detecting as well as staging of the gastrointestinal cancers.
