Abstract
Every person needs to feel a sense of belonging to a society or a particular social group. Otherwise, he is doomed to moral loneliness. Identifying allows you to determine your own uniqueness and also the similarity, and difference from others. Formation and change of identity continues throughout the life of a person. There are a number of factors that influence the transformation of identity. Identity is a complex, polysemous term that has various characteristics and can be considered in all viewpoints. Considerable definitions are in existence at the present time. Identity has a number of characteristics. It can be constructed and it is often situational and changeable. The group identity is the most stable among all forms of identity. Religious and ethnic identity often changes, and takes negative and transformed forms. There are some factors that lead to change of identity. Civil identity is most beneficial in a multicultural society since it helps to maintain harmony in society and in inter-ethnic relations.
