Abstract

The paper presents a study of the development of regional electric power space. The authors studied the main stages of electric energy infrastructure development in the context of technological advances and features of the territory it is possible to define a place and a role of energy infrastructure in spatial development of a region. The authors define the concept of “infrastructural energy space of a region”. The paper presents a basic features of electric power space of a region influence its spatial development. The structure, the composition of the Unified Energy System of Russia (UES of Russia) has been studied. The authors studied the dynamics of indicators of accessibility of energy infrastructure and the efficiency of the procedures for connecting electricity to Russia that enabled the formulation of the relevant strategic tasks, the tendencies, problems of development of the regional electric power space - asymmetry of spatial distribution, extensive infrastructure, increasing unevenness of development and determined direction for its solution - stimulation of economic development in the regions, equalization of power supply to population, overall optimization of power consumption.
