Abstract
Antidepressants and anticonvulsants are widely used to treat a wide variety of pain disorders.
These medications have significant utility not only in the treatment of neuropathic pain but also in the management of nociceptive and mixed pain types, as well. Caution must be exercised when prescribing these compounds, as many have significant side effects and drug interactions, to which the elderly are particularly susceptible.
