Abstract
This chapter’s goal is to guide the reader through neuroimaging, focusing on computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), with a brief explanation of their similarities and differences. We aim to present a basic overview of imaging indications and acquisition techniques, as well as explaining different MRI sequences that are included in a basic brain evaluation protocol, and their functional uses, in order to prepare you to interpret common findings and avoid potential pitfalls. New advanced sequences of MRI are also presented and discussed.
