Abstract
This chapter discusses the planning and execution of the Innovation Celebration and the Innovation Chase Game, the two EdTech initiatives intended to celebrate and reward those who adopted both educational technology and the values the EdTech team wanted to espouse (risk-taking, community-building, and innovation). Change theorists describe cultural artifacts as drivers of change. As the EdTech team looked to organize the celebrations and the rewards-and-badges game, they tried to identify places in those initiatives where culture was transmitted through those artifacts and they tried to ensure that the culture transmitted aligned with the values they wanted to espouse. This chapter discusses the Innovation Celebration and the Innovation Chase Game in the context of cultural artifacts.
