Abstract

The study is focused on the use of Taguchi Design of Experiments (DOE) method in the compressive strength of slag based geopolymer composite with polypropylene fiber. Generally, a large number of experiments were usually required as to decide a suitable mixture for finding the needed requirements of polypropylene fiber concrete. For that purpose, Taguchi’s approach with an L9 orthogonal array and three-level factor to reduce the numbers of the experiment were adopted. Four control factors, namely contents of binder material type, Polypropylene fibers aspect ratio, and polypropylene fibers percentage were used. Three responses (workability, strength, cost) were evaluated. The Taguchi orthogonal array gives the best possible outcomes in a less experimental trial. The obtained results were evaluated by analysis of variance (ANOVA) method to determine the optimum level of each factor.
