Abstract
The International Parish Nurse Resource Center has gone through many transitions in efforts to remain in a strong position to support the ongoing maturation of what is now called faith community nursing. The change in the title from the International Parish Nurse Resource Center to the Westberg Institute is consistent with the change of the specialty practice from “parish nursing” to “faith community nursing.” The Westberg Institute will be discussed through reviewing the development of the Church Health Center. With a focus on prevention and health promotion, access, and changing the understanding of health, the Church Health Center strives to make a difference in peoples’ lives, locally, nationally, and internationally through faith community nursing.
