Abstract
An electrical power system constituted by two electrical machines mutually connected may be an useful example in view of investigating, by simulation, the connection between different aspects emerging from the description of a system. In presence of perturbations an instability may arise due to which an electrical disconnection not avoidable, splitting the system into two separate and autonomous subsystems. As a consequence structural changes may intervene, showing the inadequacy of the mathematical descriptions previously considered. Focusing on global description and the design conditions, some observations about the role of instability and structural changes become evident. Then it is possible to give place to model interpretation in terms of quasi-systems enabling a simpler qualitative understanding of phenomena under study.
