Abstract
This chapter briefly narrates the history and evolution of an ideal variety of treatment for numerous orthopedic conditions where difficulty is experienced in achieving union simultaneously in different dimensions with increased chances. This technique is an extremely useful tool in the armamentarium of an orthopedic surgeon today. It can be used to treat nonunions, infected nonunions, limb lengthening, deformity correction, congenital pseudarthrosis, joint contractures, arthrodesis, and complex fractures.
