Abstract
Precancerous and cancerous lesions on the mouth, head, and neck are significant findings that can pose immediate threat to someone’s life. The occurrence of these conditions is influenced by multiple genes and modulated by the environment and can be defined as having a complex or multifactorial mode of inheritance. After years of developing strategies to fight cancer, patients are surviving longer and the need to deal with the consequences of head and neck cancer are also growing.
