Abstract

Left ventricular outflow tract obstruction in the adult with congenital heart disease is a general term that includes all the obstructive lesions affecting the left ventricle, aortic valve, and the aortic arch. These lesions can be caused by residual defects that were not completely addressed in childhood or by acquired conditions such as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
